Department of Computer Science and Application
				Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra
	Kurukshetra University has taken pioneering in imparting and education in the field of Computer Science & Applications. Full- time computer software oriented Post-M.Sc Diploma course was introduced in the University from the academic year 1972-73, later in the year 1981, this University was the first in the country to start a U.G.C. supported one year M.C.A. programme. This was replaced by a two year M.C.A. programme form the academic year 1984-85, onwards. In December 1990, U.G.C. has sanctioned the proposed of Department of Computer Science & Applications to update the two-year M.C.A. programme to three Year M.C.A. programme under the U.G.C.-D.O.E. Joint Manpower Training Programme in Computer Science & Technology and the same was launched in the session 1991-92. The Department is also running One-Year post B.Sc. Diploma in Computer Science & Applications (D.C.A.)  with effect from the session 1983-84, under  the joint support of U.G.C.& D.O.E. the Department has also started two year M.Sc. (Computer Software) w.e.f. Academic session 1995-96, and M.Tech in Computer Science 7 Engineering three Semester full ?time programme w.e.f. Academic session, 1996-97.
		The Department also makes serious, efforts for job placement of outgoing students in various organizations all over India. Some organization, also hold campus interview at Kurukshetra for job placement.
		The Department organizes seminars, gust lectures and invites senior professionals /professors form Institutes of National and International repute to exchange their view through such interactions. This faculty members of the Department also extend their services to other Department of the University like Tourism, Economics, Chemistry & Commerce in order to meet their academic requirement in the field of Computer Science & Applications.
