New Business: John stated that he has resigned as secretary of the state association due to time constraint's and he and Audrey are expecting their first child in Aug/September. Congratulations to them both!! He asked Miles and Cathy if they could attend the association meeting Sunday the 22nd at 1pm in Rutland. They agreed to attend. He also asked if anyone wanted to be on a committee to help with the 2013 convention. Frank bought up Motorcycle Awareness Day April 18th to be held at the fair grounds. It would be 9-4 pm. It would be $50 plus to participate. Frank moved we spend $50 to participate on the 18th of April. Seconded by Cathy C. John made an amendment to spend up to $100, which was seconded by Miles. Frank accepted the amendment and the motion carried. Cathy S. bought up and idea to sell Vt Made Richard's BBQ Sauce the 18th as a fund raiser. She explained about the sauce and how it worked. Cathy S. made the motion to order 6 cases of the sauce. Frank seconded the motion. Motion carried. Ride Discussion: Frank and John handed out ride calendars for everyone. He asked that the road captains think up some ideas. Mike suggested he would talk to a buddy that owns a hotel to see if he could get a deal for a weekend ride. Some other suggestions was Harley Dee's in St. Albans. And maybe a ride to Wells river to meet the new VT 5 group. Mike bought up maybe doing a smaller ride this year instead of a big ride. Suggestions were maybe visit a nursing home and let the residents come out to see the bikes. John said he could check into getting a Red Knight suit. (we all want to see that) Another was use the charity ride to raise money for “Meals on Wheels” as that program maybe getting cut. Respectfully submitted Cathy Silk, VT1 Secretary |
