Bobbi Davies, ISTD

Bobbi Davies began teaching Ballroom Dancing in the Burlington area some six years ago after retiring to "The North Country", Champlain, New York, from New Jersey.

Bobbi was co-owner of a School of Ballroom Dancing in Manhattan for many years and also taught near her home in New Jersey. She is a member of The Imperial Society Of Teachers Of Dancing (ISTD) of England and the US, and has been since 1970.

Bobbi competed in the Professional Standard and Latin American Divisions of Ballroom Dancing on a National and World level, and was a 3 times ranked United States Representative to the World Championships in the Standard, placing in the semi-final on 2 occasions. She also competed at The Blackpool Festival in Blackpool, England on a regular basis.

Bobbi is a registered Coach and licensed Adjudicator with the World Dance And Dance Sport Council (WD&DSC), the world governing body for Professional DanceSport and member of the International DanceSport Federation (IDSF) to whom Olympic recognition for DanceSport has been granted. Bobbi has been training competitors for almost 40 years and is proud to now be working to develop Vermont's first DanceSport Athletes.

Bobbi has two grown daughters, one of which, Wendi, has gone on to become a qualified Teacher Of Ballroom Dancing and also earn recognition as a National, World, and World Championship competitor.

One of Bobbi's current goals, along with daughter Wendi, is to create a unique type of dance center in the Burlington area to attract young people, college and high school students to this fascinating sport, as well as to provide ballroom dancing instruction to residents of the surrounding area. Their hope is to be able to produce some of the finest DanceSport Athletes from Vermont, as well as an enthusiastic and well-educated audience and group of Vermont supporters.
