The Cousin's Page
Hello! I am verruckt_madchen13's cousin, superspongedude. I have decided to add a page onto her site. So, here it is.
Spoiler Alert!
This portion of the website contains a major giveaway to something in the 5th Harry Potter book. Please do not continue if you haven't read it or are reading it now.

On my page I would like to explain a difficult concept for many people to understand. I got it right away but I had a while to think about it. This subject is the way Sirius dies. In the book, Sirius is dueling his cousin Bellatrix Lestrange, and she hits him with a powerful spell. Some think that this is what killed him, and that may be true. But it is my belief that what happened next killed him. When Harry and his friends first enter the Department of Mysteries, they find a veiled arch in one of the many labyrinthine rooms. They hear moaning and cries of pain and terror from behind the veil faintly and are drawn to it. When Bellatrix blasts Sirius with her wand, he tumbles backward and falls through the veil. The look of terror on his face described by J.K Rowling gives us the impression that he knows what is behind the veil. I think that the veil is some sort of gate or doorway into the realm of the dead. It has torturous cries echoing out of it, and the only kids drawn to it were the ones who have experienced death in thier lives (Harry Potter and Luna Lovegood).
J.K Rowling put a difficult concept into her books and I think it will be the first of a series of issues that Harry faces with dual meanings. He is drawn to the veil because he senses his parents' prescence behind the veil. I think it is good that she has put a sort of philosophical issue into her book, because up until now she has been very straightforward.
