Out of F1 yet again
After remaining loyal to Arrows for 2002 and signing a contract - only to have it broken by Tom Walkinshaw - it would later emerge that Jos had turned down a test drive for the Ferrari team for 2002 - an opportunity lost due to his Arrows loyalty. Some websites state this fact as true, some as a rumour, but whatever the truth - Jos had definately lost all opportunties for 2002 - all the race seats were taken by the time his managers had a chance to look for a deal.
A mid-season entrance with the Sauber team never materialised after an unsuccessful test-drive found that Jos was too tall for the cockpit of the 2002 Sauber.
Out of F1 completely for 2002, Jos's management looked to secure a 2003 comeback...
