I am along with the rest of the nation, shocked and heartbroken at the tragedy that has occured upon US shores this past week. The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, NY, USA were a Proud Symbol of the strength and pride of America. Symbols of our towering confidence and mastery of architechture. On this day, American Airlines, Flight 11, took off from Boston's Logan International Airport and was Intentionally Flown and Crashed into Tower 1 of the World Trade Center. Also, minutes later, United Airlines, Flight 175 took off also from Logan International Airport and was Intentionally Flown and Crashed into Tower 2 of the World Trade Center. Within less than two hours time span, these structures, were brought down. Into masses of rubble and mangled steel. Lives lost. Mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, family killed in a senseless act of Terrorism against these United States of America and it's citizens.

Also, the Pentagon, our symbol of American power and might, the center of Military structure in Washington D.C., our nation's capital. Both of these, strong and powerful symbols of who and what the United States has created and is proud of. Minutes after Flight 93 took off, American Airlines, Flight 77 took off from Dulles International Airport and was soon to be Intentionally Crashed into one of the five sides of the Pentagon.

These three flights, including a fourth, United Airlines, Flight 93, which left Newark International Airport, bound for San Francisco, CA, crashed nose first into the ground in an empty field in Somerset County, PA. It's true and honest flight plan diverted by more terrorists aboard and then rescued and crashed by passengers onboard who overtook the hostile men in charge. No one knows where this flight was going to be sent or where it was to be crashed. Conjecture abounds.

The following is a timeline drawn from other pages around the internet and off news sites as to what happened on this tragic day, September 11, 2001.

1. 8:45 a.m., EDT: AA11 slams into the North Tower. Jet fuel igniting, people jumping to their deaths, pieces of plane, papers, debris raining down to the streets below. Television coverage begins, no one sure what has truly happened. A bomb again? Why is this happening? What has happened?
2. 9:05 a.m., EDT: UA175 slams into the South Tower. Now twin infernoes. People panicking in the streets, Media coverage and people witnessing what has happened this time. Terror and fear reigning supreme in downtown NYC, firefighters and police officers rushing to do their jobs. Unbeknownst to them and the thousands they are attempting to rescue, they are doomed.
3. 9:39 a.m., EDT: AA77 crashes into one side of the Pentagon. Actually in Arlington, VA, just outside of Washington, D.C. People hear and witness it as they are heading for televisions and radios to try and find out, figure out what is going on. The news of the NYC horrors being blared across the airwaves.


4. 9:50 a.m., EDT: Weakened by fire and the crash, the thousand degree heat from the jet fuel melting steel inside the building. Tower 2, South Tower, crumbles to the ground, taking thousands of lives. Almost imploding, floors collapsing all down to the streets and onto the people below.


5. 10:10 a.m., EDT:UA93 suddenly dives and crashes into the field in Somerset County, PA. Locals wondering why is this plane flying strangely? Later reports of loved ones on board the doomed flight come to light. Having called home, and called 911. "We're being hijacked, we're being hijacked!" Words that 911 operator will hear forever.


6. 10:30 a.m., EDT:Also weakened by over an hour of fire and extreme stress, Tower 1, North Tower collapses, debris, desks, paper, glass, steel. All falling into the already tormented streets below.
7. In the Hours that follow: Panic reigns. Television and radio broadcast the days events not only as they happen but showing them over and over. People rushing home to be with family. President George W. Bush speaks and boards AirForce 1. The FAA shuts down all flights domestic and international, diverting some to Cananda. Military on alert. Only planes now in the air, military and police. Watching the skies about America for another threat. Rental car agencies and taxicabs nationwide, gouging customers trying to 'escape' and return to their destinations. People gathering, no longer worried about sex, creed, race, religion. All watching and coming together now ALL AMERICANS.

It's now been several weeks after the terrorist's attacks. I am still feeling ill about the mass destruction and absolute senseless loss of life that has occurred. Postscript: Yesterday. Six months to the day since the tragedy. Time flies by. Time goes too slow. People and circumstances change. But what happened on September 11, 2001 will never be forgotten.

Dateline: September, 2002. It's been one year. And the horror of what happened is still very fresh in so many minds. I've talked with people who lost family and friends in the Twin Towers. Their grief is still fresh in their minds. I've talked with military personnel, who are the men and women we are sending out to fight this "War on Terrorism". They all are ready willing and able to continue this fight, this war, to get a little something back for the Mighty US of A, and especially for the lives lost, torn from us... the workers, the pilots and passengers, the police and fire fighters, who were all lost on that incredibly shocking tragic day. September 11, 2001. 9/11. God Bless them All.
