| ~Journey of Love~ The Story of Joanna view Chart Wheel When speaking about the philosophy of esoteric astrology and the technicalities and theories behind the delineating of a natal chart, {soul-centered or otherwise} all might seem obscure at first. It might be helpful, then, to have a living example of the principles at work. The following is the story of Joanna, who has so kindly agreed to allow me to use her chart and her story so that these energetic principles might be brought to Life. Hers is an inspiring story that looks limitation in the face and defies it, opting instead for growth, acceptance of what is, a fresh expression of her Will to be, and a Love that warms the hearts of all who know her. It will also illustrate the importance of knowing the various expressions of the sign Leo, as Leo has the Sun as ruler of all three levels of expression. I have had contact with J over the past few years, and found her to be a very warm, kind and compassionate human being. What I did not know was any thing about her past, or how she might have arrived at becoming the beautiful Soul she is today. She asked me for a reading saying that she had not ever had one before and felt it was time to learn about herself; that she had spent Life thus far taking care of others. My mouth fell open when I saw her chart wheel. What popped out first was the huge stellium in Leo in the 10th house. I had never seen so much Leo before in any chart, nor such a loaded 10th house! Accompanying that was Saturn in Scorpio in the first, as apex to a T-Square with Venus, Jupiter, Vulcan, Mercury, the Sun, and Mars {all in Leo}.10th, and the Earth in Aquarius 4th. Libra is Rising. {Pluto in Leo 10th as well, but falling out of the square formation at 12 degrees past the point at which a square would take place.} It became apparent then that her journey had begun with pain and suffering, physical and emotional and heavy responsibilities very early in Life, clearly illustrated by the Saturn in Scorpio first and T-square formation. All that Leo…hmmm…not a trace of self-centeredness, or the need to be center stage; not a trace of wishing to dominate and control…not a trace of self pity…{at least not from where I was looking}…Saturn in Scorpio as Apex of a T-Square and in 1st house, yet seemingly not a trace of a doggedly determined control freak; only a warm and loving Heart and the glow of the Soul… The following will include a Soul-Centered reading of J’s chart, along with adding bits of her story; the ones she felt comfortable relating to me. J has Libra rising. The Ascendant is the focus of an esoteric reading, as it points to the future and the evolution of the Soul. Libra is the sign of seeking balance, of Cosmic Law, and of perfecting the principle of Love; this Love then to be expressed through the personality or vitality of the chart: for J, Sun in Leo 10th, her Soul’s vehicle on earth. Libra’s ray of Manifestation is the 3rd ray of Active Intelligence, and expressed as Will energy is The Will to Evolve. The personality- centered ruler of Libra is Venus in Leo, 10th. The Soul-Centered ruler is Uranus in Cancer, 10th, which is conjunct MC and Venus {Cancer on MC}. Because the soul and personality centered rulers of Libra are conjunct, there is a strong urge for Soul centered expression in the life; in fact, in the case of J, she had likely previously fused Soul with Personality, for as we look further we find that Venus is conjunct Jupiter in Leo as well. Jupiter is the key to spiritual purpose, as it reveals the use of the 2nd Ray, {Love/Wisdom} in the present incarnation. The conjunction of these 2 planets gives spiritual insight into all human relationships and brings in the highest quality of rapport in every situation. {Venus being the Earths higher octave, and instrumental in the evolution of Right Human Relations} Not only is Venus conjunct Jupiter, but Vulcan, Mercury and the Sun as well. And Mars in Leo is also conjunct Sun, Mercury, Vulcan and Jupiter. What powerful potential, and evidence of prior development we see here in the 10th house! The Sun/Venus Sun/Jupiter combinations are also powerful forces for the blending and expressing of Love/Wisdom and spiritual insight. Vulcan, though at times painfully challenging, breaks down any existing barriers to this expression in the Life. We also find in the 10th, the entire ray energy spectrum influencing…There is not one missing from this house. Cancer: (3,7}..Sun, {2}, in Leo.{1,5}..Mercury {4} in Leo, {1,5}..Pluto, {1} in Leo, {1,5}..Mars, {6} in Leo. {1,5}..Venus. {5} in Leo..{1,5}..Uranus..{7} in Cancer, {3,7}..Jupiter {2} in Leo, (1,5)..Vulcan {1} in Leo, {1,5}…From her past we see ray energy lines {2,4,6} Moon in Pisces, and SN Gemini (2)..further evidence of the proir development of Love/Wisdom. The 10th house is considered esoterically as the house that reveals Spiritual Purpose; House of the Masters, and exoterically honor and status, the father, career, profession; and is where both the Soul-centered and Personality centered rulers reside..{Uranus/Venus}… Cancer esoterically suggests the embodiment of Soul, while exoterically the connection to the masses, or mass consciousness. The 11th house is considered the container of resources for the 10th, and has Leo on the cusp. Interesting enough, J stated that her biological father was also a Leo. Yet his expression of Leo was far different from hers. This adds a bit of further insight into her quest this incarnation; who and what was her authority this lifetime?? father, or The Father?, and through the Father Aspect {Ray 1} her Spiritual Will? As we move from Cancer to Leo we see on the exoteric level, a movement from mass consciousness to individualized, though self -centered consciousness. Esoterically these same two signs express the embodiment of Soul, {Cancer} , moving toward Sensitivity of the Souls apparatus culminating in sensitivity to Spiritual Will. With Virgo on the 12th house cusp, the Moon in Pisces, 5th, Pisces on the 6th house cusp, and Mercury {personality centered ruler of Virgo} in Leo, conjunct Vulcan, Sun, Venus, Mars and Jupiter, we can only surmise that it is The Spiritual Will that is being brought forth…From the birth of Christ Consciousness in Virgo, to the assuming of the Spiritual responsibilities in the 10th house. J’s South Node of the Moon is in Gemini, 9th house. Taking the rest of her chart into account, this seemed to suggest that she has had past lives of spiritual service, perhaps as a religious leader ; one who may not have had a lot of personal contact with the masses. It also seems to suggest that she has incarnated into many cultures, and has been learning steadily about many belief systems and ways of life. It is likely she was someone held in high esteem; having power, yet not abusing power. Her Moon is in Pisces, 5th house. From a personality level, this could indicate diffuse and undisciplined emotions and expression of self. Yet, from a Soul level , Moon in Pisces is the epitome of compassion and endless devotion. Neptune in Libra is rising in the 1st house conjunct the Libra Ascendant. Neptune rules the 10th house {Cancer} esoterically, and the Moon from a personality level. This placement would indicate that J is an endless source of nourishment for others, yet may have some difficulty allowing her own emotional/spiritual needs to be met; yet this is also part of her Journey; the Consecration of Self through subordination of the needs and desires of the 'Lower' Self to the Higher; the Balancing and blending of the 2 evoking a Love that burns through the Dross of limitation; becoming attuned to Spirtual Will. Saturn in Scorpio, 1st house, sets the stage for the burning ground this lifetime, pointing to what is limited on a personal level, or the specific experience the Soul is seeking in order to evolve, and the tests with which J {mandated by her Soul} will find herself faced. Scorpio, notoriously the sign of the disciple, the burning ground, and of transformation, manifests on the 4th ray; Harmony through conflict, whose fundamental concept is the will to destroy limitation. Saturn is a 3rd ray planet, so here we see a blend of the 3rd and 4th rays. Mars {6th ray planet} is one of the personality-centered rulers of Scorpio {with Pluto, 1st ray}, as well as the Soul-Centered ruler of Scorpio. They are conjunct in the 10th house. Scorpio is on the cusp of the second, the house which esoterically is the container of spiritual resources, and shapes form for the expression of spiritual values. We see then with Mars and Pluto conjunct in Leo, J arrives with an inherent sense of spiritual values and right relationship. {of added interest might be her biological mother was a Scorpio.} In the 3rd house we find Sagittarius on the cusp, with the North Node of the Moon also in Sagittarius. The Soul-centered ruler is the Earth, in Aquarius 4th house, and Personality-centered ruler is Jupiter in Leo, 10th in opposition to each other. The combination allows for a more harmonious fusion between heart mind and earth focused purpose, though with the opposition aspect, has the danger of over emphasis on the scope of personal importance. But hers was not a personal journey in that sense. The Earth is where we find our practical everyday dharma, or where we will give service. The 8th house has Taurus on the cusp and is the house that rules the Path. Vulcan and Venus {soul-centered and personality-centered rulers of Taurus}are conjunct in Leo in the 10th house. Taurus, esoterically is the penetrating Light of the Path. The 4th house from a personality perspective deals with biological inheritance, mother and immediate family, psychological foundation, home; whilst from the Soul-centered perspective biological karma inherited from family and genes, The Mother Principle, The Group Soul; the foundation of the Soul and its anchoring in the present; Karmic conclusions to Life circumstances. From the following story in brief, you will be able to see how J simultaneously fulfilled inner and outer roles of her 4th house earth placement, and overcame the limitations and karma of her Saturn placement in Scorpio the 1st. Hers is a Journey of Love and Hope that has made me think again about ever taking anything for granted. J was born on August 5th, 1955, with rheumatoid arthritis and a heart defect. {Saturn Scorpio, 1st House, ruler of Capricorn, ruling the skeletal system, also ruler of the 10th house {father, The Father} The 1st house ruling Physical body and its form exoterically, and Esoterically the Soul Body or Causal Lotus, and Leo, the heart}. The doctors said she would never walk, and likely would not even live. A sickly and delicate infant, yet with immense inner strength, J did live, though did not take her first steps until she was 12 years old. With the aid of leg braces, she slowly began to walk. Only 2 months later, her mother had a stroke, and was no longer able to care for the children. As the oldest of 5, she then assumed the responsibility for her younger siblings. {Saturn in Scorpio 1st, apex of a t-square to Sun, Mars, Mercury, Vulcan, Jupiter and Venus in the 10th, opposition the Earth in Aquarius, 4th}.. (Presently she has no evidence of either physical malady) Throughout all of this, J’s father was abusive. As she put it, mean, though this was not with a judgmental tone, merely acceptance of the truth of the situation. She did not elaborate on the details of the relationship, yet did relate that he had called her ugly, would never amount to anything, etc etc.{yet from the nature of this formation, one might see that there was much more}.. And yet she continues to care for him and about him to this day. He is now 81 years old. She said only recently he said to her..”J, someday I am going to apologize to you”…She said, “Apologize for what?”…he said…”For the way I’ve treated you.” Her reply to him was “I’ve forgiven you. ” “He said when, when did you forgive me” she replied “Oh, its been so long ago, I don’t even remember”. J has no bitterness about her life. She has overcome tremendous pain and anguish to fully express her Spiritual Will and Purpose here on Earth; To consecrate individuality, be a source of Light and Love to those in her immediate environment {North Node of the Moon, 3rd house, in, Sagittarius} and be the Loving Sustenance for her family, perfecting the principle of Love whilst willingly accepting and embracing the challenges that Cosmic Law/The Universe/God may place before her.. {Libra rising} At this point in her life, J is reaching outside what has been her earthly duties/dharma. Her siblings that she cared for are grown, her mother is gone, her daughter is in college, and she is having the urge to do some different things in Life. She wants to work with people, in a way that is spiritually fulfilling. She can’t see herself not doing for others, but might like to have more reciprocal relationships. Her progressed North Node of the Moon is in Sagittarius, 1st house, progressed Sun in Virgo, 10th, a Neptune and Mercury conjunction in Libra 11th, and Jupiter/ Pluto in Leo, 9th. Scorpio is rising. I shared her chart with a friend, and we both agreed she would make a dynamite motivational/inspirational speaker; a teacher of Love. In fact, there are so very many things in which she could excel and be of service. Encapsulated her journey seemed to be about rising above limitation, to find the Joy in Life, and being a teacher of Love by her example and care; Consecrating her individuality for the good of the Whole. |
