2001 at Vestal UMC
The beginning of our next 125 years.
At Vestal United Methodist Church in 2001, it is our hope that we would be not only a church in the Vestal community of South Knoxville, but a church active in the Vestal community. This means we must force oursevles to "think outside the box" when it comes to doing ministry. We wish to invite everyone to join us in winning some for Christ, as our Bishiop has challenged us to do. As we keep our eyes open for the opportunities of ministry in front of us, there is an easy way you can join us no matter where in the world you are located.
Prayer Bells. Part of the ministry of winning some for Christ leads us to pray for those we know who do not know Christ. We have written the names of these persons on bells and placed them on our altar to pray for them each Sunday morning as a congregation, and everyday individually. If you have someone you would like to add to our prayer list, please e-mail the church and let us know the name. We will write the name on a bell and place it on the altar for you.
Glasses for the Masses. Do you have old eye glasses you are no longer using? We are currently collecting used eye glasses to be sent to Paraguay In the few short months we have been doing this mission project, we have collected over 50 pairs of glasses. If you would like to donate to this project, please let us know or simply bring your glasses to the church and place them in the box located in the Sanctuary.
