| The Northern Ireland Women's Athletics Association was formed in 1950 and immediately began holding seperate championships. Previous to this, several championship events, primarily sprints, had been held in conjunction with men's meetings. These came to an end with the Second World War. Seperate Championships were held in various venues throughout Northern Ireland for over 20 years before the implementation of joint Championships and eventually the formation of the joint Federation. |
