Performing Marine Animals

Marine animals natural habitat is the ocean; not a chlorinated, small containment area! Orcas and dolphins are not used to this, but are forced to perform because they are hungry. Not because they "enjoy" it.

In the wild, dolphins communicate with echolocation (a sort of radar). When they are in the holding pens where they perform, their sonar bounces of the walls and comes back to them. Many a dolphin has been known to try to kill themselves by bashing their head against their holding pen.

Also, marine mammals hunt in the wild. Their bodies are built for it and they enjoy hunting. The only reason they perform for humans is because they need food. Getting fed dead scraps isn't fun for them. It's unnatural.

Think of being torn from your family and forced to perform for scraps of fish. NO exercise, NO fun, NO family.

Do you think this orca wants to perform? He wants to go back with his pod and live his life out naturally.

And please, don't be decieved by the "smile" dolphins and orcas have. It is permanent, and doesn't mean they enjoy their new, miserable lives!
