DEGREE AWARDED TO THE PRESIDENT & SECRETARY GENERAL. |

Dr. Mohsin Ali Bhatti (President VCO) & Dr. Rana Shaukat Hussain (Secretary General VCO) received their degrees during the first convocation of University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore Pakistan held on Saturday 13
th of May 2006 at main campus UVAS. President, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, General Pervaiz Musharaf was the chief guest of the event. Lt. Gen (R) Khalid Maqbool (Governor Punjab/ Chancellor), Mr. Pervaiz Elahi (Chief Minister Punjab), Mr. Sakandar Hayat Bosan (Federal Minister of Food, Agriculture & Livestock), Mr. Syed Haroon Sultan Bukhari (Provincial Minister of Livestock & Dairy Development/Pro-chancellor UVAS) also chaired the ceremony.
Degrees were awarded to 480 recipients who have passed their DVM, MSc(hons) & PhD degress in last 4 years. Medals were distributed among the position holder students. Prof. Dr. Manzoor Ahmad (Vice Chancellor, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore) briefed about different research projects in the university. Lt Gen (R) Khalid Maqbool (Chancellor, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore) urged the degree holders to use their abilities in their particular profession & to make their role in the development of Pakistan. He also advised the recipients to work for the welfare of animals. He appreciated different research projects in the university. General Pervaiz Musharaf (President of Pakistan) urged to produce a caring & humane attitude towards all living creatures & appreciated the work of Pakistani veterinarians working across the world in different aspects. He showed his special interest in veterinary profession. He advised the HEC (Higher Education Commission) to pay more attention towards this profession in order.

FIELD DAY AT KOT ABDUL MALIK LAHORE |
Vets Care Organization Pakistan (VCO) is going to arrange a field day at "Kot Abdul Malik" district Lahore in July 2006. Free de-worming & free veterinary treatment is proposed in this field day. The lectures on different topics regarding the care & health of animals will be delivered to the farmers in the local language. Free medicines will be provided to sick animals. VCO is looking for your generous support for the Field Day in form of cash, medicines and gifts for the owners who take best care of their animals. In this field day the sick animals will be treated and will be given medicines freely. Students of the Vets Care Club, UVAS,Lahore will attend this field day with the VCO Veterinarians. | |
REQUEST FOR MEDICINE |
Medicine Bank of the Vets Care Organization Pakistan provides the medicine to the needy farmers for their animals. The medicine bank is actively involved in providing the medicine to help the animals. It have provided medicine for the different field days & camps of VCO & also donated the medicine to SPCA & provided the medicines to outdoor & indoor hospitals of UVAS for owners of animals who can?t afford the treatment. Therefore, medicine bank continuously needs for your donations in the form of different medicines & also the cash for purchasing of different medicines. All the readers of this newsletter are requested to co-operate with medicine bank in order to keep it running for the welfare of animals.
