MEETING MINUTES
AUGUST 27,2001

POST MEETING OPENING
Meeting was opened at 1935 hours by Commander Roy Robinson in due form.

MEETING MINUTES
Copies of the June and July minutes were distributed to the membership.
Roger Brazier made a motion to accept the June minutes, seconded by Harry Bostick.
Cal Horman made a motion to accept the July minutes as amended , seconded by
Harry Bostick. Motions carried.


QUARTERMASTER'S REPORT.
A copy of the July report was distributed to the membership. A total of $7,752.14 for
all accounts was shown. George Coder made a motion to accept the
report, seconded by Harry Bostick. Motion carried.


READING OF THE BILLS
a bill of $ 10.00 was submitted for stamps. Roger Brazier made a motion to
pay the bill,seconded by Cal Horman. Motion carried. District per capita fees of
$85.00 was also disbursed.


SERVICE OFFICER REPORT
Cal Horman made an inquiry into veterans administration status of Ralf
Goetz and Lester Morris. The status for Morris is in a wait for further information.
Commander Roy Robinson and Quartermaster Ed Brophy disbursed $ 64.78 for
one night in a motel for a homeless Vet. Advised the Vet of organizations to
contact for help. Motion was made by Ed Brophy to pay the amount above
the Commander's authorized amount. Seconded by Jim Admonson. Motion carried.

Cookie Report- Harry Bostick- July, 10.5 hrs, 140 miles, 92/25
cases/boxes,
2076 dz.,$3,970.00.
August, 2 hrs.,33 miles, 5/0, cases/boxes, $ 200.00.
Factory store was opened which may be less cookies.
Post Surgeon Report- Harry Bostick- Report distributed to membership on
VFW Post and Ladies Aux at the VA Health Care Center in Seattle.
Honor Guard_ Pete Smith- Two services, one at Greenwood Cemetery. A
proposed monthly service for those Vets interred without a service ceremony. This
would require more participation. Some ammo was sent to the wrong address
so it was paid for and turned over to Milt Till. Need to acquire some
equipment and supplies for the Honor Guard.
Boy Scout Report- George Coder - No report at this time.
Voice of Democracy - Jim Admonson- Need to start contacting the schools
for the Voice of Democracy and essay contests. Commander Roy Robinson to contact
other Posts on contacting schools.
Rest Stop- Harry Bostick- I-90 rest stop application to be filed.
Road Cleanup- Harry Bostick- Road clean up scheduled for October 19th at 9;00AM.
News Letter/Web Site- Greg King- Need articles for up coming news letter.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS - None.

NEW BUSINESS
Proposed budget for 2001-2002 distributed to membership. Commander Roy
Robinson reviewed the line items to the membership. A discussion occurred
about Misc/Administrative line item expenses.
Cal Horman made a motion to increase that line item from $150-$250.00, seconded by George Coder. Motion carried. Harry Bostick made a motion to accept the 2001-2002 budget as amended, seconded by Roger Brazier. Motion carried.
A discussion of a per capita increase of $3.00 PER Member going from $14-$17.00. possibly to go into effect Jan.1,2002. Increase of Post dues to be
taken up at October meeting.
Sept 24th meeting will start at 6:30 PM for a 2 hr. CPR session by Bob Sizemore
from the Fire Dept.. Meeting to be held afterwards.

A presentation of a hard hat was made to A. Hammon by Cal Horman to
prevent further injuries to his head!
