Thanks to all who bring in Nox Tops for Education and the Campbell Soup UPC labels for the VFW National Home for Children. They are looking to get another van with these UPC codes. It takes a lot to earn a can so keep them coming. If you're not sure what do cut out being the whole label and we will take care of it.

Fisher House gave us a Wish Like and members Sam Simpson and his wife gave a fantastic donation for them to purchase many of the items on the list. They are still looking for few things such as travel size shampoo, conditioner, deodorants and disposable razors. If you are able to donate any of these items please bring them to the Post marked "Monika for Fisher House". They were also asking for toothpaste and toothbrushes. We had some left over from previous donations and we were able to provide them with 44 toothpastes and 35 toothbrushes.

There were 100 5-point Campbell Soup codes sent to the VFW National Home in October. Remember to save them and bring them to the Post and put them in the box on the display case.
There were 10 backpacks delivered to Madigan Army Medical Center. I received a thank you note from Major Bill Krei and his famliy. He survived an IED ecplosion in Afghanistan and arrived at Madigan with only the shirt on his back. He really appreciated the backpack he received from us.

To date we have sent 700 Campbell soup labels to National Home. If you just send me the whole label and I will cut out what is needed. On Sept. 11th, my mom, the Auxiliary President and I attended the Puyallup Fair. We took hearts made with Buddy Poppies and handed them out to police officers and firefighters and thanked them for their service and dedication. They proudly attached the poppies to their belts as they continued to work.

The Welcome baskets for Fisher House will make things easier for those who come to be with their wounded. Many thanks for those who donated to them so generously.

This heading now includes Buddy Poppies and National Home for Children. There were 500 points in Campbell soup UPC Codes sent to the Home. A box full of female items was sent to National Headquarters for our female troops serving overseas.
There were 10 backpacks delivered to Madigan as part of our Wounded Soldier Project.
The School of Instruction forwarded a request for donations for the new Fisher House to open in Seattle. Sone of the suggestions the families might not bring when they come to stay by their wounded family member. Shampoo, conditioners, soap, lotions, toothpaste, disposable things like toothbrushes/razors, hairspray, comb, brush, nail polish & remover and similar toiletries. They are looking for travel coffee mugs also. All items MUST be new. If you wish, bring items to Stan at the Post Home, meat raffle, to the Steak--Out or the next meeting on August 5. The deadline for these donations is August 22.
