Forging E-mail
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

What exactly is forging e-mail? Well it is basically sending an email from another email
adress different from

your own. It takes more than just sending an email the regular way though. It takes know how.
Though not a whole lot,

it is enough to remember that it may make you think for a minute. Well, good... it is healthy to
think. It is a very simple

task involving only a few tools: you, commands, and telnet. You are the one who will be
completing the task, commands

give you the ability, and telnet is the program that gives you access.

     How do you access telnet?
Simple... just go to the start menu,
                         select run,
                         and type telnet.

     What is telnet?
Telnet is a program that comes with Windows systems and gains access to
other servers.

How do I connect to a server?
Click the Connect menu (in telnet),
                    Choose Remote System,
and enter in the host (server), port (kind of like a virtual doorway
though you
don't necessarily need to worry about it for this task), and the
TermType (VT100).

Now we get into the actual work. For this let us use the server mail.hotmail.com. When
you have connected,

a few lines of text should appear. Type in ehlo to basically say "hello" to the server. Then more
lines of text should

appear. Now you are ready to send the email. Type mail from: whomever@wherever.com.
Then it should verify that the

sender is okay. If it is okay then type rcpt to: whomever@hotmail.com because hotmail is the
server that we are using.

Then type data. Now you may type your email. When you are finished, start a new line, type a
period (.) and hit the

return key. Your email should be sent soon.
