Greetings and salutations! My name is Trent Bowman. I was born and raised
in Broadway, VA, which is located at the upper end of the Shenadoah Valley
about ten miles north of Harrisonburg, VA. My interests include:
Reading sci-fi/fantasy novels (Peirs Xanthony
and David Eddings are two of my favorite authors)
Digital electronics
Mucking about with computers
The Transfomers: More than meets the eye!
My Education
The Early, Formative Years
I really loved kindergarden - where else can you play with
blocks all day and have it count as education? The work was easy, the food
was good, and I enjoyed myself. Then came middle school. I really detested
middle school, though. Somehow, most kids turn into jerks in middle school.
Middle school is a blot in my memory that I would rather keep as a blot.
On to better things.
The Big Time
I entered The Big Time at Broadway High School. My
freshman year of high school was forgettable. However, in my sophomore
year, a driver's license changed my life. It enabled me to take part in
Drama, VACE (Valley Academic Competition for Excellence), Band (Marching,
Concert, and Jazz), and the Challenge program, as well as driving all my
friends home after school.
I graduated from James Madison
University with a degree in Computer
Science in 1998.
My Job
I am currently employed at Fairfield
Language Technologies, a growing company that produces The Rosetta
Stone, a foreign language learning system developed using Macromedia's
Macromind
Director. I make extensive use of AppleScript, MetroWerks
CodeWarrior and Perl in the creation
of our product.
My Future
This area is currently under construction.
