The level of the rods on display has risen so much that a trophy winner from a couple of years ago wouldn't even get a look in this year. For any one who goes to hot rod events there were a lot of familiar cars but there were at least a dozen new big dollar rods and a few cars that had obviously changed hands or been freshened up. Good also to see so many club stands, showing just how strong rodding is right now. The displays were outstanding and something that the Yanks could take a leaf out of our book about. Of the new rods the stand out for me was the Model A Tudor that had been modified into a A-400 look-a-like with a B model grille and unbelievable detail. Also there were a '37 Coupe from Sydney, an orange '57 Chev, the "Outlaw", and a really nice black '32 Vicki. On page 8 there's some neat panorama shots taken from the balcony, it gives a really good feel for the layout of the place. As soon as we get some results, I'll publish those as well. My apologies for some of the images. The first lot of photos were taken with my work Kodak digital camera the other (darker) images with my old Cannon Powershot Digital, unfortunately it just doesn't cut it inside, but it's still a damn site cheaper and quicker than film. Buy the way don't forget to have a look at Readers Rides, or what's going on in the garage at Rods Under Construction and the Virtual Body Shop, where the cyber saw is always hot!
