If there is something that characterizes the Havana, is its intense cultural life. The cuban artistic tradition has been prominent. The enrichment with artists of excellent level in all the demonstrations contributes to the growing and development of the art in the island. A big amount of theaters offer cultural presentations to satisfy the most refined inclinations. Every weekend, the capital of the island offers an intense cultural movement that enables  the visitors to enter in contact with the most genuine and important expressions of the artistic work of the biggest of the Antillas islands.

The cuban carnival parties  are as abundant as the grace and happiness of their inhabitants. Among  these there are several that conserve their traditional character. The most significant cases are the ones of  Havana, Camagüey and Santiago de  Cuba, the most famous one of the three due to  the enthusiasm and popular participation. In Havana the carnivals take place for 4 weekends in a row  and for their celebration are used the same profane elements  that accompanied the party of the corpus, that we call ´Comparsa´, the giants or ´muñecones´ as we would say in spanish and other inventions and elements that were carried in big carriages called ´carrozas´. Also many popular music bands perform in different places for the fun of  cuban people and visitors from everywhere.

Important museums can be found in the capital  of the island. They are  always open to  the needs of knowledge of intellectuals or tourists that are interested on appreciating the history of Cuba. Among the knownest are found the Museum of  Napoleonic Art, the Colonial Museum of Art, the Museum of the Dance, the Museum of the Music, the Museum of the Revolution. Recently  the National Museum of Beautiful Arts has been reopened with two headquarters: one of Cuban art and another one of international art.

Another option of importance is the International  Book Fair of Havana in which  publishing houses of the entire world put available to the public assistant an extensive range of books for everybody.
