The first trip by the "Catherine Jamieson" sailed, from Leith, had Messrs Allan and Son and Messrs Adamson and Co as the official agents. They left left Scotland from Kirkalldy Roads Leith, on 28 June 1838 and reached South Australia on 1 December 1838, after a journey of 5 months.
Catherine Jamieson arrived 22 Oct 1841, barque 451 tons, Captain William Hutchinson master, from Leith (near Edinburgh) Scotland 29 May 1841 to Port Phillip. The importer was Mr Robert Howe of Sydney. Fiche 5 Page 137 aImages 77-82, pages notes

The native place of the brothers John and James Barry was recorded as Co Tyrone and both could read and write. Another passenger is William Noble who returned to Ireland then brought his brother and fiancee here in 1849
The Catherine Jamieson was later wrecked at Table Bay in 1860.
