From on Thursday, 22 January, 2009

John Bowden, came with wife Elizabeth and seven of his eight children aboard the Garrow as you have listed. An older sn David travelled on the same voyage and gave his age as 19 (he was in fact 23). Father John was listed as 45 years of age when in fact he was closer to 55. On the same voyage was the eldest Bowden daughter Isabella travelling with her husband Moses Kerr, three of his children from a previous marriage and their son together, David aged 18 months. The final Bowden daughter Ann (Nancy) emigrated with her husband and four children in 1851.
