It's the cheapest summer sport, or the year-around sport in Vancouver. Unlike skiing, there is no lift ticket, no line-up, no closing hours. You come and go any time you like. Your playing field is as big as it can be. The bicycle and in-line skate track along the sea-wall and Stanley Park is the longest in Canada. Starting from Sunset beach and following the track, it will take you right into Stanley Park. Along the route, you will meet other in-line skaters, bicycle riders, walkers, and girls with bikini on the beach. If you are a beginner, get some protective gears. You will fall few times, and get hurt a little. After that you become an in-line skater. In-line skating is both fun and good exercise. If you haven't tried, you should. The beautiful Stanley Park provides unlimited scenery. The view from waterfront and south shore of Lions Gate Bridge is breathtaking. For a few moments in my life, I did forget about skiing.
