You came into my life
one dreary winter day
I knew right from the start
Why you'd been sent my way.
You knew that I was lonely
You knew that I was scared
You knew that I needed a true friend
And you are that without compare.
You opened your arms to me
Along with your heart
You didn't ask for the story of my past
But, instead, made 'this day' our start.
