Tania Petrova Nikleva-Vladeva graduated from the High-School of Music “Pancho Vladigerov” in Bourgas in Flute with excellent marks (1991) and also from the State Academy of Music “Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia in Choral Conducting in the class of Prof Lilia Gyuleva (1996).

 

In addition to performing   as a flute-and-piano player, even as a student Tania Nikleva devoted herself to composition, orchestration and arrangement for instrumental ensembles, choir and symphonic orchestra. She also took part in several concerts as a conductor of the chamber choir “Prof Georgi Dimitrov” at the State Academy of Music.

 

Since 1993 she has been working as a pianist and choirmaster and since 1996 – as a conductor of the “Christina Morphova” female choir with principal art director – Prof Lilia Gyuleva (since September 2003 – Prof Emil Yanev). Tania Nikleva took part in all the concerts and tours of the choir in Bulgaria and abroad (Greece 1993, FYROM 1999, Romania 2001). She also participated in all the recordings and TV-broadcasts. There are certain considerable points of her work with the choir as the CD release “Viva La Musica” (2002), the premiere of the “Suite” for women and folklore choir and symphony orchestra by Krassimir Kyurkchiyski (2002), the book-and-CD release and the concert – tribute to Prof Lilia Gyuleva (November 2003), the organization and the participation of the choir in the international choral competitions in Ankara, Turkey - winning 3rd prize in “Folklore” category - and in Maasmehelen, Belgium in 2005, long concert tour in Hungary, Belgium and Austria; the preparations and realization of the gala celebration of  the 70th anniversary of the choir in 2006 and a CD with brand-new studio recordings of the choir dedicated to the anniversary , the participation of the choir in the Festival of women and girls choirs “Prof Lilia Gyuleva” – Targovishte’2007 and many others.

In 1996 just after graduation from the State Academy of Music in Sofia Tania Nikleva was elected via competition assistant - professor in choral conducting at the Conducting Department at the Academy. She is lecturer in Basis of Conducting to students in “Music Pedagogy” and “Musicology”. For ten years she has trained successfully tens of students to specialize choral conducting. She has also been an assistant to Prof Lilia Gyuleva (1996-2003), Assoc. Prof Miroslav Popsavov (2001-2006) and Prof Dr Virginia Atanassova (2004-2006) in their Choral Conducting classes. For five years she has been the art director of the Student Mixed Choir at the Faculty of Theory, Composition and Conducting.

At the end of 1998 in celebration of the 45th anniversary of Prof Gyuleva’s artistic career Tania Nikleva founded the Youth Mixed Choir “Ave Musica”, which she still works with at present. The choir has already a rich and serious repertoire, an active concert life and recognition in Bulgaria and abroad.

 

In 2001 Tania Nikleva won the first prize in the first International Competition for Young Choir Conductors in Budapest, Hungary competing with 30 conductors from 17 countries. She also won the special prize of the Students Girls Choir of the Franz Liszt Academy This brought her a nomination for the annual prize of the Union of the Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers, the Ministry of Culture and Classic FM Radio “Crystal Lyre” in the “Conductor” category.

 

In 2003 Tania Nikleva was elected member of the board of Sofia Choir Conductors Association and in 2005 a secretary. She also was elected a secretary of the board of Bulgarian Choir Conductors Association in 2006 and of the Balkan Choral Forum – Bulgaria Association in 2007.
