A young woman named Amélie Poulain (Audrey Tautou) is painfully shy and has an overactive imagination due to the seclusion she experienced as a child. One day she stumbles on a tin box filled with old toys that used to belong to a little boy that lived in her apartment in the 50's. After some investigation she tracks down the boy who is now a man. She decides to give him back is treasures. If he's happy she'll become a regular do-gooder but if not, she'll never do it again. When he is happy she decides to help more people. In the process she meets some interesting people and makes new friends. She grows a little more with each person she helps. But who is this mysterious man she felt a connection to the very first time she laid eyes on him? Will she be able to change her life they way she changed others?

This french film is one of the few you can actually call "magical." It leaves you feeling so warm and happy inside. The images are so beautifully done and the story is as well. You have to have a heart of stone if it doesn't make you smile just a little bit. It is truly wonderful. Because of this, the jury gives this flick:
