Big Lebowski, The
[BACK]
[DVD Info]
Jeff Lebowski (Jeff Bridges) aka, “The Dude” comes home one day from buying half and half to find two guys demanding him for money that his wife owes them. When he doesn’t have the money (or even a wife), one of the guys pees on his rug…the one that ties the whole room together. The Dude finds out that there’s another Jeff Lebowski (David Huddleston) that is a millionaire and his wife Bunny (Tara Reid) has been racking up some serious debt all around town. The Dude goes to the Big Lebowski to ask him to pay for a new rug to replace his soiled one. BL refuses to pay but the Dude steals one from his house anyway. Later that week he is summoned by BL and he tells Dude that his wife has been kidnapped and they need him to drop off the money so he can possibly identify the kidnappers as the guys who peed on his rug. Dude agrees but his friend Walter (John Goodman) ruins the whole plan. Soon after, one thing after another goes wrong and now people want Dude dead…or…at least his Johnson in restitution. What will the Dude do? All he wanted was his rug back…
Ferrets are vicious animals when placed in the tub.
Cutting off your toe is worth a million dollars.
"What do you mean brought it bowling, Dude? I didn't rent it shoes. I'm not buying it a fucking beer. He's not taking your fucking turn, Dude." ~Walter talking about his dog.
None! This was a great movie!
When I sat down to watch The Big Lebowski I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had heard it was a good movie…and it was by the Coen Brothers (who are awesome). I heard that one of the guys who bowled was a child molester. What could this movie possibly be about?! Well! It turned out to be an awesome movie. It’s almost a who-dun-it kinda movie. The Dude was awesome and very lovable with his slacker ways, Steve Buscemi does great as his role as a pushover…he made me sad though…he always looked like a kicked puppy but then would come back for more. Julianne Moore had a hilarious role too. Especially her "vagina" speech. , Walter…sucked but he actually started to grow on me at the end of the movie…but for the first ¾ of the movie…I hated him. He was annoying and stupid and just screwed up one time after another…funny how those type of people grow on you, huh. Anyway, if you haven’t seen this movie…you should definitely check it out. It's a classic. Because of this, the jury gives this flick:
