[DVD Info]

An Indian girl living in Britain, Jess (Parminder K. Nagra)comes from a very traditional family and she loves to play football (soccer to us Americans) but her parents refuse to support her dreams of becoming a professional...or even just playing for fun. They just want her to live a quiet life and marry a nice Indian boy like her "perfect-in-her-parent's-eyes" sister, Pinky (Archie Panjabi). One day, she is invited to play on a team by Juliette Paxton (Keira Knightley) a white girl, whose mom thinks she's a lesbian. The two very different girls soon become best friends. But when they both start to fall for their coach Joe (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers) and lines of friendship start to be crossed, will their friendship survive? Will she ever be accepted in the football world? Will Jess's parents ever understand her dream?

"Jess...I'm Irish...of course I know what it feels like [to be made fun of]." ~Joe.
