[DVD Info]

Five friends, Paul (Rider Strong) a caring young fellow who has a thing for his childhood friend, Karen, Karen (Jordan Ladd) a tease who likes to drink and do lots of weed...she doesn't seem to have an feelings for Paul but likes to string him along anyway, Bert (James DeBello) a selfish guy who is involved with Marcy...he and Jeff make a bet to see who can go the longest drinking only beer, Marcy (Cerina Vincent) a kind of superficial girl who is with Bert, and Jeff (Joey Kern) a jock kind of guy that does weird things for fun (i.e.: hunt squirrels and set fires); go up to a cabin in a rural area for a week long trip. While Jeff is out hunting he accidentally shoots a hunter out in the woods mistaking him for a rodent. The hunter (whose flesh is peeling off his face) turns out to be sick and asks for help but scared that he'll get the sickness too, Jeff shoots at him and runs. Later that night the guy shows up at their cabin but they slam the door in his face...so the hunter hijacks their car (but not before throwing up blood everywhere) so they beat him with bats and then set him on fire and he runs off into the woods. Slowly one by one they start getting sick. They start getting sores on their bodies and bleeding. Will they get out alive or will they succumb to this flesh eating virus?

Little boys with mullets (that look like wigs) bite.
When looking for help...find the nearest canoe.
Skinning pigs is an angering experience.
Cops promote partying.
If you go for help and meet rednecks they will chase you down and try to kill you.
The best way to kill a redneck is to screwdriver him in the ear.
Deers know...they just know...

"That guy asked for our help and we LIT him on FIRE." ~Karen.

None...this was actually a decent horror movie!

I was actually impressed. Cabin Fever succeeded where Dreamcatcher failed miserably. It was the same kind of concept with a virus infecting animals which in turn infected humans and there was no cure (and in this movie...no aliens *sigh*), but instead of becoming ridiculous and treating the audience like morons...it kept its creepy atmosphere and followed through with it's original story. This movie gets bonus points for making me jump a few times. It was actually a good horror movie that didn't fall short of its goal. Sure it has its cheesy unrealistic moments but that's what makes the "what I learned" section worthwhile (this doesn't work well with foreign movies). Because of this, the jury gives this flick :
