[DVD Info]
Cameron Poe (Nicholas Cage) has just gotten out of the military and he comes home to his wife, Tricia (Monica Potter) who is pregnant with his daughter. When he arrives, 3 men (who want his wife) start a fight with him and Cameron accidentally kills one of the men who pulled a knife out on him. Later, at his trial, is lawyer tells him to plead guilty because his sentence will be shorter. The judge says that since he’s been in the military, he’s a dangerous weapon and normal laws don’t apply to him, so he gets 7-10 years. Eight years pass and he finally gets out on parole. He has to be transported on a plane with a group of highly dangerous convicts with much worse crimes under their belt. After the plane takes off, the convicts led by Cyrus the Virus (John Malkovich) hijack the plane. Cameron really seems to have bad timing. Will he be able to get home safely to his wife and daughter? Or will he be considered part of the hijacking and get sent back to jail?
White trailer trash folk know how to do everything.
When diabetic and near death for a few hours, only one shot of insulin will make you better, instantly.
The best way to take out a gay convict is to bitch slap him.
"Define irony: a bunch of idiots dancing around on a plane to a song made famous by a band that died in a plane crash." ~Garland Greene.
Haha, this movie was great!
Con Air is a really awesome, over the top action movie. Just when you think that it can’t get any more hardcore and ridiculous…it does. Nicolas Cage is good as a southern man who just wants to get back to his family (but doesn’t do so when he has the chance because he has a friend on the plane). Steve Buscemi is absolutely awesome as a mass murderer who wears little girl’s heads as hats. In all, this flick is very, very cheesy…but…what action flick doesn’t ooze a little cheese here and there? Well…this one does more than ooze a little…the whole thing of sprayable cheese exploded on this movie. Although, the “touching” moments in the movie kind of slow it down a bit and seems a bit out of place, they’re pretty few and far between (which is good for a movie like this). I’m just glad that Garland didn’t peel that little girl’s face and eat her like an orange. Oh yeah, by the way? This movie has some big plot holes…but who’s paying attention. It’s awesome anyway! Because of this, the jury gives this flick:
(Amused, Thoroughly)
