Quentin (Maurice Dean Wint) is a divorced cop with 3 sons and an anger problem. Helen Holloway (Nicky Guadagni) is a paranoid free clinic doctor who thinks the government is out to get her. Leaven (Nicole de Boer) is a young girl who has a knack for math. Rennes (Wayne Robson) is a fugitive that has escaped maximum security prisons 7 separate times. David Worth (David Hewlett) is a cynical architect with a chip on his shoulder. Kazan (Andrew Miller) is autistic boy who loves gumdrops and hates the color red. What do these people have in common? When they finally stumble across each other they must figure out where and why…and most importantly…how they can get out alive!

Gumdrops come in bags...not boxes.

"Nope. I've gotta pretty fine collection of pornography." ~Worth [answering the question if he had a wife or girlfriend to live for].

None! This movie ROCKS!

This flick is really interesting and awesome to watch. Although, it is cheesy and the actors are…shall we say…really excited about playing their roles, there’s something about it that makes it good. And…this movie is a lot more thought out and deeper than you might expect like…all of the characters are named after prisons: Quentin (San Quentin, California), Holloway (in England), Kazan (in Russia), Rennes (in France), Alderson (Alderson, West Virginia), Leaven and Worth (Leavenworth, Kansas). Not only are the characters named after prisons but also they reflect the prisons themselves. For example: Kazan (the autistic guy), in Russia is a disorganized prison. Rennes (the "mentor") was a jail that pioneered many of today's prison policies. Quentin (the detective) is known for its brutality. Holloway is a women's prison, and Alderson (the very first guy we meet) is a prison where isolation is a common punishment. Leavenworth runs to a rigid set of rules (Leaven's mathematics), and the new prison is corporately owned and built (Worth, hired as an architect). Nifty huh. My favorite character was Worth…he was so surly and sarcastic…I loved it (even if he did look like a cross between Quentin Tarantino and the guy who hosts Fear Factor). Anyway, it’s a really good movie…but definitely a B movie. The cube effects are pretty good for such a low budget movie…and definitely better than the second movie (even though the 2nd movie is great). One thing though...this movie makes me so angry at the same time! Quentin SUCKS! And at the end...WTF?! Graaah! Just see it! It’s lame, hilarious, cheesy, angering, and awesome all wrapped into a movie. Because of this, the jury gives this flick:

Amused but Angry
