Devil in the Flesh
[DVD Info]

One day Debbie Strand’s (Rose McGowan) family was killed in a house fire and she is forced to go live with her god-fearing grandmother, Fiona (Peg Shirley), who makes her wear old lady clothes and do house work at 4am. When she arrives at her new school she’s already being picked on by a group of popular boys. She then meets a teacher, Peter Rinaldi (Alex MacArthur), who comes to her rescue. She instantly has the hots for her new creative writing teacher…but soon her crush turns into an obsession. Debbie won’t let anyone have Peter…no matter what. And as two detectives are trying to close the case of the house fire but the deeper they dig…the more it looks like murder. What is Debbie really capable of?

The more bodies that disappear, the less people seem to care.
When someone tries to force themselves on you...always have a ski pole readily available.
Don't befriend people with visible tattoos if you're planning on using them to substitute as you.

"No means no. Don't you guys get that? What is it, you stop understanding English when you get a hard-on?" ~Debbie.

Ah! Rose McGowan is so cute! In a trashy way...

This movie reminded me of a cross between He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not and Poison Ivy. It was alright…but if they had just spent a little more time on character development it would have been so much better. Like, Debbie acts like a crazy person but they don’t really go into her mind and explain why. Saying “she was abused as a child” doesn’t cut it for me. It’s hard to feel for a character if she’s crazy for no real apparent reason. And the obsession for her teacher comes totally out of left field. She sees him once and then he’s her knight in shining armor. I dunno…didn’t make too much sense. This movie really had potential but they just half assed it. I might have liked it better if Debbie and Peter hooked up or something. It was almost pointless. She didn’t even seduce him…so why would she think he loves her? I dunno. Oh well. The ending was stupid too. If she was going to do all that for her love…she shoulda went out with a bang. I did think that Rose McGowan did a good job though. I found her character believable...now if they had only given her a reason...besides being pointlessly crazy. Man...I really wanted to like this movie. With two separate pairs of boobies, six murders, and one senseless murder of a cute pup…the jury gives this flick:
