Ghost World
[DVD Info]

Two pessimistic outcast girls Rebecca (Scarlett Johansson) and Enid (Thora Birch) just graduated high school. They have plans to skip out on college for a while and move in together and be best friends forever. In the beginning of the summer the two girls look through the personal ads and call one for a joke. When the guy (played by Steve Buscemi) shows up, Enid feels bad for what she’s done and becomes obsessed with him and his life. While Rebecca is ready to start her new life after high school, Enid can’t help but cling to the past while her life becomes uncertain, as her high school antics start to hurt people and ruin lives. When did life get so hard?

None...I loved Enid's clothes!

Although this movie is good…it’s also really depressing. It does go more along the lines of how real life works…but I’m always a sucker for a happy ending…and this one has none of that. I love, love, loved Enid’s wardrobe. I just wanted to step onto the set and steal it all away. Thora Birch has such style. I also love Scarlett Johansson a lot…she’s so cute! Anyway, this is definitely a great movie, but it leaves a lot of unanswered questions. I really want to read the comic book of which it’s based off…I heard it’s good. Ah well, great movie, good costumes, awesome music, good story! Recommended for those people who weren’t exactly on the top of the food chain in high school (I don’t think any other type of people would like it). Because of this, the jury gives this flick:
