High Plains Drifter

A high plains drifter (Clint Eastwood) stops in a small town to get a drink, a bath, and a shave. The local barflys don’t like him stopping through and give him a hard time. He leaves the bar to get a bath and shave and the men try to attack him; he kills them all with his gun. A girl purposely runs into him and begins to run her mouth off. He decides to teach her a lesson and pulls her into a stable and rapes her. That night, he dreams of his past where he was whipped badly by a group of men; everyone in town watches him get whipped; yet no one helps him. In the morning he goes for his bath and the sheriff tells him there’s no hard feelings about the men he killed. The sheriff tries to convince the drifter to protect the town from a group of men who’re about to be released from jail and have a bone to pick with the sheriff who handcuffed them and took them to jail while they were unconscious. The town is so desperate for help that they tell him he can have whatever he wants. He appoints a midget as the new sheriff and mayor. He also “volunteers” a group of men for the army to stop the three men the town fears. Will the drifter help them or hurt them in the end?

Clint Eastwood was an asshole in this movie.

To be blunt…this movie sucked hardcore. There was no back-story at all. Clint Eastwood’s character just waltzes into this town, rapes a couple women and is an asshole. Well…there was a small back-story. Apparently he was a sheriff in this small town and the bad guys that were just released from jail bullwhipped him. He died and the townspeople buried in an unmarked grave. This doesn’t make sense really. They said they buried a body…if he’s the guy then did he rise from the grave? Is he a ghost back for revenge? Or did they just bury the wrong body… Secondly…how do the townspeople not recognize him? He was their sheriff for a long time. He looked exactly the same as he did before. It doesn’t make sense! This movie was so boring. I couldn’t handle what an asshole Clint was. It wasn’t even cool. He was just a big fat jerk. He rapes women and then they come back and have sex with him later. Clint Eastwood directed and starred in this movie…maybe he was acting out a fantasy where he can rape women and they’ll come back and he can be a big jerk and no one will say anything. Buh. This was a lousy movie. With extreme facial close-ups, a midget, bleeped out swear words, taking metaphors literally, imitating a Mario Brothers game, and unexplained revenge…the jury gives this flick:
