Idle Hands

Anton Tobias (Devon Sawa) is a lazy, pot-smoking, slacker. A little before Halloween his parents are brutally murdered but Anton doesn’t even seem to notice that he hasn’t seen them in a couple of days. Four other people also end up dead in town, brutally dismembered. A few days later Anton and his equally slacker-like friends, Mick (Seth Green) and Pnub (Elden Henson) realize (through unfortunate series of events) that Anton is the killer. A few minutes later Mick and Pnub are dead. Anton’s hand is possessed by the devil and makes him do things he doesn’t want to (like kill people). His hand then takes him to the home of his long time obsession, Molly (Jessica Alba), where his hand tries to kill her, but they end up having sex (after he ties his violent hand to the bed). When he returns home, he buries his friend and family and says a prayer, but it seems his friends aren’t quite dead yet, since they’ve become zombies! As Mick and Pnub hang out, Anton tries to figure out how to keep his hand under control before it tries to kill anyone else…especially since its got its sights set on Molly!

Mmm…I think that I would have liked this movie better if it had a quicker pace. The whole movie moved a long really slowly. For a movie about a hand that kills people…it was slow and unimpressive. You don’t find yourself relating/liking any of the characters (expect maybe Mick…’cause he had the best lines) in any way. Like, okay…this was stupid…Anton obsessed about Molly, for, like, all his life…and she didn’t even know who he was…but he comes over to her house to kill her…and they have SEX?! That doesn’t make sense. Anton was stupid and should have just died. His whole relationship with Molly took a LOT away from the movie...but I guess there wasn't much to begin with. I was amused by the cameos by Tom Delonge from Blink182 and The Offspring! It was funny when Dexter Holland gets killed. Hahah…I used to think he was so hot when I was in middle school/high school. But alas…that, combined with 11 bodies and 1 pair of bare boobies couldn’t save this, otherwise, boring flick. Because of this, the jury gives this flick:
