[DVD Info]
In the second installment of "Legally Blonde" we find Elle (Reese Witherspoon) planning her wedding with Emmit (Luke Wilson) and waiting for her promotion at the law firm she works for. Elle wants to invite her dog Bruiser's mother to the wedding so she hires a private investigator to find her. He finds her but it turns out that she's being held at V.E.R.S.A.C.E a make-up company that tests make-up on animals. Appalled, she tries to convince her law firm to make them stop but ends up getting fired instead. She must help out Bruiser's mom...but how? She'll go right to the source! She'll go to Washington D.C. and try to pass a law that bans animal testing. But she can't do it alone...with the help of her friends Paulette (Jennifer Coolidge...who will forever be Stiffler's Mom), Margot (Jessica Cauffiel), Serena (Alanna Ubach) and a doorman named Sid (Bob Newheart) she'll take on a challenge of a lifetime! But will she be able to take on D.C. and be able to plan her dream wedding???
"The bend and snap! I did that last night...naked..." ~Paulette.
Besides being totally un-realistic... None ^_~
This just goes to show that you can't really base your opinions on what other people say. I heard from a lot of people that this was a terrible movie...so I expected as much but I was pleasantly surprised. This is just a good old fashioned chick flick. Just curl up in your PJ's and grab your two best friends Ben and Jerry and enjoy. People we're probably disappointed in the fact that it doesn't hold the same charm as the first one. However, look at it on its own and it's a very sweet movie about the underdog persevering, not by underhanded attacks but with kindness and belief in oneself and others. Reese Witherspoon does an amazing job...and plays this role perfectly (I love her!). Sure it's corny (but not in a cheesy way...but more of a trying to get you to smile way) and it does recycle some of the same lines for the first...but it has a charm on all its own. This movie also has an underlying message about politics that rings true and it seems they tried to sneak that in there without trying to overpower the movie. Although, I didn't get the point of making her dog gay… I don't like how everyone is so mean to Elle! She's never done anything to them! Man! However, it's very sweet and heartwarming and makes you feel fuzzy inside. This is probably a big guilty pleasure for many. So, yeah...it's not realistic but it still is a good movie that'll put a smile on your face even on the snowiest of days ^_~ Because of this, the jury gives this flick:
