Legally Blonde

[DVD Info]
Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) is a typical Barbie girl from L.A. She’s rich and beautiful, she’s head of her sorority (Delta Nu), very popular, and has a handsome boyfriend, Warner Huntington III (Matthew Davis) to boot. On the night Elle thought Warner was going to propose, he breaks up with her instead, saying that it’s better for his career as a future senator. Elle gets upset and doesn’t know what to do to get him back. At the nail salon she sees a picture of Warner’s brother in a magazine with his new bride. She remembers that he said he has to marry someone prestigious. She knows what she has to do. She has to go to Harvard Law School where Warner is and win him back!
When she gets there…she finds that Warner is already engaged to an ex-girlfriend of his, Vivian Kengsington (Selma Blair), and that the East Coast is very different from the West Coast. When Warner tells her that she isn’t smart enough to become a lawyer, she becomes determined to prove him wrong…to prove everyone wrong and she becomes serious about studying. Will she become a successful lawyer? Or will she give up and head back to L.A.?
"She couldn't have killed him. Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people don't kill their husbands. They just don't." ~Elle.
None! I simply adore this movie!
Legally Blonde is still one of my favorite movies to this day. I’ve seen it so many times and I just don’t get tired of it. Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite actresses and she played this part so well. This is a basic “underdog” story. Elle is discriminated against because she’s cute and blonde but she has a brain that no one gives her credit for. She has to struggle a bit to even see it in herself…but in the end she shows everyone that you can be smart AND pretty. I don’t think this movie will ever get old. The jokes are cute and fluffy and there are dangerous amounts of pink throughout the entire movie. Good times…and it also never fails to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside. If you don’t…you’re either lying to yourself…or have a heart of stone. An awesome chick flick (that isn’t just for chicks) that makes you feel good, without beating you over the head with underlying messages. Plus...that opening theme song is infectious. Because of this, the jury gives this flick:
(All Warm and Fuzzy Inside)
