Wanna makes babies?

Nightmare on Elm Street 5: Dream Child
[DVD Info]

We find Alice Johnson (Lisa Wilcox) and Dan Jordan (Danny Hassel) at graduation (they managed to get the same actors again…kudos). They have their whole lives ahead of them…they’re planning on a trip to Europe over the summer and Dan is a budding football star. However, Alice is a little uneasy. The night before she had a dream about Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund) but this time…she didn’t feel like she was in control…the first time in a long time. On her way to work she follows some kids into a weird house where she sees the rebirth of Freddy. There she also meets Freddy’s mom, Amanda Krueger (Beatrice Boepple), who tells her the only way to stop Freddy is to find her bones and put them to rest. Suddenly she finds herself at the restaurant that she works at and is told she should’ve showed up for work four hours ago. Freaking out at the return of Freddy she calls Dan and asks him to come as soon as possible. Dan leaves the party he’s at to meet her but falls asleep at the wheel of his truck (uh oh). Freddy takes this moment to kill off Dan.

After Dan’s death Alice finds out she’s pregnant with Dan’s child. Knowing that Freddy is the reason for Dan’s death (although…falling asleep at the wheel woulda gotten him killed either way) she tries to warn her friends about him, but they don’t believe her…until they start to die off.

But there’s another thing that’s bothering Alice…every person that’s died by Freddy’s hand died when she was awake. How is he getting to them…but of course! Fetuses spend up to 75% of their time dreaming. He’s using her unborn child against her. Not only that…Freddy is feeding all the souls he’s collecting to her baby…trying to turn her child like him. She must find Amanda Krueger’s bones! Will Alice be able to find them in time to save her friends and her baby?

Babies can run once they're out of the womb.
Freddy was born horribly burned.
Freddy Krueger has his own comic book.
This time...it's for KEEPS...V.S. all the other times when they were just horsing around.
Freddy Krueger's favorite word is "bitch".

"Wanna make babies? Bitch?!" ~Freddy Krueger.

Alright Alice...what happened to your Kung Fu skills from the 4th movie, hmmm?

Everyone was a TERRIBLE actor! Although, Lisa Wilcox's acting had improved a LOT from the first movie...and this movie was STILL rather awful.

Ahhh. I dunno what to say about this movie…I wanted to like it because I liked the first 3 so much but…ugh. I’ll give it props for being not as bad as I was expecting (after the last movie I thought I was gonna die). Freddy’s kills are becoming few and far between and it’s just a whole lotta yakking. He is no longer the evil doer that you root for…but an annoyance that for some reason keeps getting movies made about him. Oh well. The kills in this movie were lame. One guy even gets turned to paper and he slices him up…while riding a skateboard. Talk about trying to fit in with the new generation (this was released in ‘89). Eh…coulda be better…coulda been worse. I’m just glad it’s over. Because of this, the jury gives this flick:
