You've raped my son!

Pumpkin
[DVD Info]

“Not Long Ago,” Caroline McDuffy (Christina Ricci) is a sister at Alpha Omega Pi sorority. For their charity, the house leader Julie (Marisa Coughlan) chooses Challenged Athletes. Caroline and her friend/sister Jeanine (Dominique Swain) are adamantly against “bringing them out in the open.” When it comes time to meet their athletes, Jeanine freaks out and runs away. Caroline’s challenged athlete is Pumpkin (Hank Harris). He keeps touching her and trying to say something and she screams. Pumpkin is in love with Caroline at first sight but Caroline is left with more of a feeling of disgust…but she can’t seem to get him out of her head. When she meets him again to tell him that she’s not going to participate in the challenged games, he moves her by telling her that she’s beautiful inside and out and that she is his best friend. Caroline can’t seem to get her life back to normal. The harder she tries…the more complicated her life seems to get. Could it be? Is she falling in love with a special edder?

Sorority girls are always cold.
Some people really don't like special ed kids.
You can O.D. on Pepto-Bismol.
When you fly off a cliff...your car will explode midway down...out of spite.

"I'm sorry Casey! I really am! It's not your fault, it's not mine! It's the system!!" ~Jeanine.

Haha...none really.

I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews for this movie. It seems like, if you take it seriously…you won’t like it. If you take it seriously…you’ll be offended and very turned off by the whole story. I found this movie to be hilarious. It’s inappropriately funny sometimes…like when Caroline is talking about how she’s feeling pain for the first time and how it feels like a broken mirror and Pumpkin says to her “Broken mirror. That’s exactly what pain feels like. You’re so smart Caroline.” Ahaha…it’s great! Or when his mom catches them in bed together and she screams “You’ve raped my son!” (highlight that if you want to read the spoiler). Anyway, this is a good love story that’s funny and offensive. The ending is predictable and you already know what’s going to happen to the key characters. Christina Ricci doesn’t come off as a deep person, so when her character tries to be deep…it’s funny. It’s funny…go see it! Judge for yourself. Because of this, the jury gives this flick:
