At a drag queen show in New York, Noxeema Jackson (Wesley Snipes) and Vita Boheme (Patrick Swayze) tie for first place. For winning the show, they get two roundtrip tickets to Hollywood to participate in the Miss Drag Queen of America contest. While celebrating after the show, the come upon Chi-Chi Rodriguez (John Leguizamo) who is crying on the stairs because she lost. Vita, being a charitable soul, decides to take Chi-Chi on as protégé. Noxeema and Vita trade in their plane tickets for $1000 and buy a $50 “land yacht” (a convertible Cadillac). On their journey they go through Middle America, where they get pulled over by a cop...the cop asks Vita to get out of the car and come with him. When alone…he tries to molest her and Vita pushes him down and knocks him unconscious. Thinking they’ve killed a police officer, they take off leaving a shoe behind. Soon after their yacht breaks down and they hitchhike to a nearby town. The local mechanic can fix it, but he has to order the part…forcing the two queens and the princess to stay the weekend. Will they be able to find acceptance in a close-minded town? Will the police officer catch up with them and arrest them? Will they survive without breaking a nail???

Nothing! Pure Gold!

This movie…is absolute…pure…gold. I think it gets funnier every time I watch it! Even if you’re a little homophobic you’ll think it’s funny. It’s all worth it just to see Wesley Snipes put on panty hose and giggle and kick his legs. Wesley Snipes definitely stole the entire movie with his performance. He was the best character with the funniest lines and he played them off very well. Patrick Swayze makes a rather convincing woman and was also very funny as a mother hen drag queen. Now…normally I hate John Leguizamo with a fiery passion but he only grated on my nerves a little bit in this flick. His character is supposed to be annoying…so it wasn’t so bad. But man…did he have some NICE legs. There were a few cameos by RuPaul, Robin Williams, Naomi Campbell, and Julie Newmar…all which we amusing. This movie was just so hilarious. Every thing about it just makes you crack up laughing. Especially the places Officer Dollard looks for where “homos” hang out. Haha. I urge you to see it, even if it’s something you wouldn’t normally pick up…you’ll thank me for it. Pure gold I tell ya…pure gold!!! Because of this, the jury gives this flick:
