Losing Hazard: To play into a pocket after contact with the object ball.

Winning Hazard:
To pot the object ball with the cue ball.

Draw Shot:
To draw the cue ball back towards the striker after contact with the object ball.

Slicing Shot:
A fine shot off the first object ball on to the second object ball.

Cut shot:
A fine contact which pots the object ball.

Long Jenny:
A long in-off shot played along cushions (usually from baulk).

Short Jenny:
A soft in-off stroke into a side pocket, when the object ball is close to the cushion.

Run Through:
to impart top spin on the cue ball by hitting it above the centre so that its forward rotation will enable it to continue to move forward after contact with the object ball.

Screw Back:
To cause the cue ball to spin backward towards the striker after contacting the object ball.

Forcing Shot:
To strike the cue ball with power.

Stab Shot:
To contact the object ball and cause the cue ball to come to rest instantly at that point.

Stun Shot:
To hold the cue with a very firm grip and stop short in your delivery when striking the cue ball, ie not following through.
