John Entwistle has many basses in his arsenal, but one of the most memorable would be his Alembic bass which (appropriately) had spider webs painted on the edges. This bass appeared in many colors (blue being one of them), but again~ the natural wood was the most memorable. Also, they were seen with both a V-head and a single head. These four string basses were fully equipped with full frets, bridge, and pick-ups. It lacked a pick-gaurd, but when you play like John Entwistle who needs one? The Alembic you usually see John playing is the Explorer model (that would be the one with the points... just making sure you know). Though you can find John playing the treditional Alembic model too. Pictured on the cover of John's "Too Late the Hero" album, the Alembic bass continues to be one of my personal favorites. ~Jena
Notice the many tune knobs... so many knobs...
Alembic and PROUD!!!!!
This Alembic bass is the is of the round variety... John looks like he's having fun...
You can somewhat SEE the spider webs... and the John sings on.
Through the blinding lights of the stage, a John appears... holding an Alembic.
Mr. Entwistle looks intent on killing someone... but the Alembic bass looks nice.
A great guitar for a great bass guitarist. I always enjoy seeing footage of this particular Alembic bass guitar. It's a great instrument and a nice looking bass. If you want to see more basses by the Alembic company, or you are interested in purchasing one for yourself, then visit the website at www.alembic.com. You shall not be disappointed!
