Roger Daltrey - A Celebration
We had high hopes for this, hopes that were soon deminished into a pile of disappointment and anger. It had a decent start, what with it's "Overture", orchestra and creepy conductor. Then we start with "You Better You Bet" with Roger strutting onstage with his dirty blonde hair, pointy black books, dress shirt and jacket, and black jeans to match. And what are we celebrating exactly? That guys 50th birthday. This is the kind of party that makes 5 year olds cry. The party begain to plummet to it's firey death upon "Baba O'Riley"... why you ask? Mix a really good song, some Irish folk musicians, river dancers, Sinead O'Conner, and too much freedon on the behalf of Roger. John Entwistle came on for "Behind Blue Eyes" to try and salvage what he could of the concert. The battle was long and bloody, and unfortunately, the Irish folkmen were able to defeat the Ox and the evening went on as such. Lucky for us, John wasn't finished yet. He came out again for "The Real Me" and brough along the big one ~ The Graphite Buzzard bass and proceeded to kick some Irish ass. And when he was finished, he smiled, and went off as Pete walked on to finish the job. Sadley, just as things were starting to pick up, it ended leaving us with a very disappointing "Happy Birthday" song for Roger. We rate this a 1 and 1/2... didn't like our explination? Watch it, meatball. Oh, and just to let you know, the DVD has no extras. It might as well be a VHS.
