The Iron Man: The Musical
1989
Not to be confused with Ozzy Osbourne’s “Iron Man” song, this album is a musical based on the novel by Ted Hughes. Chyna’s shiny, bald head emerges several times as one of the woodland creatures. Clearly, the highlighted guest appearances here are Roger Daltrey, performing as Hogarth’s father, and John Entwistle, playing bass on “Fire and “Dig”. “All Shall Be Well” and “A Friend is a Friend” are especially captivating in that the musicians and vocalists all perform very well, as they do on all the songs, but there’s something about these songs that I really enjoy. It’s a great album. On a creepy crawly scale, I’d give it a very appreciative rating of 4.
