Rocks In The Head
1992
I'll be honest, I bought this CD not expecting to like it very much. I didn't give Roger the benefit of the doubt, or the fighting chance to impress me. This album, stands no comparison to other albums by, say, John or Pete, or even Keith. But in it's own, special, Daltrey-like way... it's alright! Like I was saying before, over half of the tracks on the album have his name as one of the authors. Only once has Roger written a song by himself. Maybe he learned something from the experiance. Be that as it may, the tracks are pretty great. It starts out with a song you find yourself singing to. By this, I'm referring to "Who's gonna walk on water". Proceeding onward to a few funny songs, including "Mirror Mirror" and "Days of light". Personally, the highlight of the album would be the song written for his daughter, Willow, appropriatly titled "Everything a heart could ever want (Willow)". And the song that brings the album to a lovely close, "Unforgettable Opera". Yes, we all have rocks in the head. Figurative rocks. If you should actually get Rock in the Head, it is a good CD... I say go for it. If your a fan of Roger, or the work of Gerard McMahon, you might find that you like this album! I give it a Creepy Crawy of 3! Nicely done, Mumbly Joe.
