| LYNYRD SKYNYRD formed in jacksonville , fl. in the early 60's by the legendary ronnie van-zant gary rossington allen collins steve gaines, artimus pyle, billy powell, and leon wilkerson with cassie gaines, jojo billingsley, and leslie hawkins as the honkettes became to be one of the most outstanding rock and roll bands to have ever hit the music scene. their lives were fling high until the tragic evening of oct. 20, 1977, when a terrible plane crash took the lives of ronnie, steve,and cassie. the world of rock & roll was devastated as well as the hearts of many fans......
