Scavenger Hunt |
Conduct
a scavenger hunt for a 4 week period, collecting as many of the items
(minimum 30), notes, etc. as you can.
For actions- you will need a signature to indicate compliance. (It may be your parents or worker at the location). Items do not have to be brought to class. In fact, I would prefer that you do not. A complete name and description of the items will do. |
1. Collect 3 palmate leaves & label them
2. Draw a 5 stage set of pictures showing a cell in interphase, prophase, etc. 3. A picture or name and description of 2 species in a mutualistic relationship 4. Pictures or names and descriptions of a 5 part food chain. 5. List 4 things (chemicals, etc.) which can cause cancer or cellular damage. 6. Name a genetically engineered food and describe its qualities 7. Draw or make a 3 D image of the DNA molecule 8. Give the correct match for the following DNA chain- A A G C C T T G C 9. List & describe 3 genetic diseases in people 10. List & describe 2 genetic disease in animals 11. List local areas which have fish advisories, the substance and people involved. 12. A water cycle diagram 13. Draw and label a skeleton 14. List & describe 2 dominant genetic characteristics 15. Describe or have article on current research on cloning. 16. Get an article from a magazine or newspaper on DNA technology It must include the date, source and a summary. 17. Compare the image that the eye sees to what the brain sees. 18. List & Describe the parts of the brain 19. Give the full breakdown of man from Kingdom to genus species. 20. List & describe the types of plants ( monocot/dicot, perrenial/annual) 21. Name a water bourne disease and give its symptoms. 22. Name one food bourne disease and give its symptoms. 23. Name a disease caused by worms and give its symptoms. 24. Name a disease caused by bacteria and give its symptoms. 25. Name a disease caused by a virus and give its symptoms. 26. Explain how water microbes can be used to judge water quality.. 27.
