| Mama is out of the closet and hitting the "road" with Vicki Lawrence in Vicki Lawrence and Mama" A Two-Woman Show. The show is a mixture of stand-up comedy, music and Vicki's observations about real life. The multi-talented entertainer is mostly known for her acting and comedic talents, but she also earned a gold record for the 1973 hit, The Nights Went Out In Georgia. Vicki also became one of the few successful female game show hosts when she took on the daytime version of Win, Lose of Draw. She further perfected her hosting skills with her own daytime talkshow, Vicki in the mid 90's, becoming the only talkshow host since Oprah to be nominated for an Emmy in her freshman year. Vicki spent 11 years with the Carol Burnett Show during which time Vicki created her most endearing character to date, Thelma Harper, or Mama as she is better known to us fans. After the Burnett Show, Vicki went on to star in Mama's Family, which consistently topped the ratings for its entire six-year run of original shows. Mama continues to attain almost a cult status among her legions of loyal television viewers, who still enjoy her in reruns |

| PRyan123@MSN.com Comments: I met Vicki last September at Harrah's Casino where I work. She was so down to earth and pleasant to talk to. She even went out of her way to take a picture with my mom after her last show. My mom still talks about it today and shows everyone she knows the picture. dan.walburn@tm.net Comments: A group us Vietnam Vets having our first reunion in 32 years went to Vicki's show at The Orleans Casino in Vegas. Vicki just get's better with time!! I LOOOVE Vicki! They were having problems with sound and lighting in the show, but Vicki just played it off, and stle the show anyways! She is truely the greatest! I just love her! lauratoll@yahoo.ca Comments: I just saw Vicki perform at Casino Rama in Orillia Canada this past Saturday (July 13, 2002). She was abslutely fabulous! She was funnier in person than she ever was on television. She has such a dynamic personality, and was able to play off the audience. When she replied to what the audience said or did, her jokes just got better! That is a sure sign of a true comedian. Carol may have given her a chance to shine, but this star has her own inner light. Way to go Vicki! (It was fun to have Mama visit, too!) I hope she comes back in a few years!
