HALLWAYS
The knock at the door woke her. The air in the hotel room was cold as she looked through the peep-hole.
When she opened the door, he stared at every inch of her, as though her worn t-shirt and boxer shorts didn’t cover anything at all. Suddenly, she felt overheated.
They said nothing, but his hand began to stroke her hip.
It seemed so simple now.
He leaned in, warming her neck with his breath. “Tell me this is wrong,” he whispered. “Tell me to stop.”
“But I don’t want you to stop.”
“Thank God.”
His stubble scratched her skin as their lips met. The kiss was soft, gentle, and she didn’t dare breathe. Then he tilted his head and she surged forward, wanting all of him all at once. They tangled together, searching, seeking, devouring one another.
She pulled back, tingling everywhere.
“What is it?” he asked.
“Don’t stop.”
