He wanted her.
She could tell.
Everything about him that night had said that enough was enough.
She hadn’t known it could be like this – this powerful, this rough, this tender, this all-consuming.
It had been a long time coming. They had spent a long time running from each other. In the end, it had been well worth the wait.
Leaning over, the sheets crinkling beneath her elbow, she tried to tell him what was building up inside.
“Hush.” He pressed his fingers against her full lips.
She protested: “Let me.”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“I don’t know.”
“Yes, you do.”
