“Don’t go.”
“Why stay? Why, Josh?”
“Because I want you to.”
“I’m not sure that’s good enough.”
Silence. Now, he was certain he didn’t want stillness between them. Before, it had been about his soul, realising all that had just happened. Obviously, he had failed at trying to show that. Failed miserably. He was an idiot.
“Please stay.”
“Did you just say please to me?”
“Please.”
“Oh my God. Josh? Are you okay?”
“Please.”
She paused in pulling on her blouse. He didn’t move from where he sat, naked, among the rumpled sheets.
He held out his hand, hoping. “Please.”
