Zealous
"To be a ninja, you have to be passionate, you have to believe in yourself all through your adventures. Without passion, without beliefs, you cannot be a ninja for your enemy will get you before you will get yourself. Passion is needed, and to be zealous within life would guarantee some form of success. The same also goes for the AP English Language Exam! "
Passage:
"Lord, You are the faithful one. You are the faithful in Your every thought, Your every word, Your ever action. You have promised You would never leave me nor forsake me, and You have proven that commitment over and over again. You've stayed at my side through good times and dark times, in sickness and in health. You've promised that if I fail, You'll still love me. You are so good, so ready to forgive, so abundant in mercy. Your unconditional love has redeemed me, healed me, and freed me. Day by day, You are shaping me into Your own image, bringing forth beauty where it never was before.
And so, today, Lord, help me to be faithful to my life partner--this wonderful person You have given me to love--in ever word, every though, every deed, In Jesus' name, amen."

The Tender Commandments by Robert Mehl
Explanation:
As Robert Mehl adds this letter as an addition to his book, he intentionally wants a letter that has a feeling of passionate love for the Lord. Throughout the writing, it has sentences varying from long sentences to short ones, allowing emphasis to that of the shortest ones. Also, the vocabularies chosen, weren't formal, but rather colloquial since the writer constantly states, "You" throughout the whole passage. The intentions of the writer remain clear, as she recounts her beliefs of the Lord and speaks of him so highly. She praises the Lord in an obsessive way such that she had had repetitions of the same idea and word over again, for she clearly states that the Lord had been so greatly helpful to her throughout her life. The tone can obviously be depicted, for she appears completely devoted, through her attitude and the syntax. The attitude towards the Lord obviously appears as if she believes completely within the Lord and will never wither away.
