Posting 3:  Chapter 6 Discussion . . .
With the health of our world slowly declining due to tobacco, there is absolutely no need to ignore it. ?Tobacco related disease kills 178,000 women each year in the United States, yet a search for the public discourse on this fact reveals a profound silence,? this statement proves that action needs to take place in order to preserve peoples health.  Not only are men smoking, but women too, pregnant women.  What is this world coming to when a woman can not put a cigarette down for nine months to save their child?s life?  The side effects of tobacco are harmful to the mother, child, and people around the woman.  We can admit, living in the United States, that health care is not as good as it should be.  People put there lives in danger for five minutes of nicotine bliss from a cancer stick that is slowly killing them.  If everyone would come together and help others in need than there would not be such a high lung cancer risk and high risk of pregnancy complications.
Gossip and nosiness is the world?s entertainment.  Everyone has to be in someone else?s business.  If a smoker wants to ruin their life, then let them.  People do know what the side effects of tobacco are; some just choose to ignore them.  It is like drug heads, no one gives handouts and pamphlets about the risk of different drugs; if they do no one will read them because we have better things to do.  Not only is smoking a choice, but there are more important issues in the world right now.  There are starving children in Africa, none the less in America, but we have to forget about them in order to help the ignorant smokers in America quit, I do not think so.  The general public does not care if smokers quit or not as long as they do not push their ideas off on them.  Wars are started over reasons like this; people can not keep things to their self. Look at the War of Terror, are we winning, no because terror will always happen; just like smokers, they will keep smoking.

Posting 4:  Paper One Reflections . . .
I think my first paper could have been better, but everything can be better.  I know I did not put enough analysis in my paper, nor did I put enough input on criticism.  My main focus on my text was to incorporate more of my ideas and views; I see now I should have said less.  I need to also redo my Works Cited page since I did not have my MLA Handbook.  The main problem in my writing is I am used to writing  a paper with my own ideas, not one that is based on someone else’s.  It would have been easier for me to write about something that I am more passionate about.

Posting 5: Chapter 2 Questions . . .
Men have higher IQ scores than women, they hold higher positions in office than women, and men get a higher pay to the dollar than women.  In simple terms, a man's mental intellect is of more complexity than a females.  On average males score higher than women on IQ test; they have exceptionally higher scores in math and science.  There are more men in the math and science fields these days which is probably due to their higher level of thinking.  In the government we can see that men out number women greatly; men handle stress and emotions with an ease.  Not only do most men have higher paying jobs than women, but today women are only making (in some cases) seventy cents to the dollar of men's pay.                                                                                   Today there is a female speaker of the house, women are CEO's of fortune 500 companies, and women are scoring higher than men on IQ test.  Needless to say, women are making their mark in a "man's" world.  The United States, for example, has become more of a modernized government in the past few years by electing Nancy Pelosi as the speaker of the house.  Women, not only men, are serving as CEO's and presidents of banks, corporations, and establishing their own company.  Who ever said men score higher than women on IQ test is horribly incorrect; as a matter of fact women are creeping up the IQ scale.  How can females be different than males when they have the same brain structure?

Posting 6:  Chapter 14 Overview . . .
An amendment needs to pass throught the United States to support same sex marriage because we live in a country of equality.  People who have the right to vote are the only ones who can change our country to inherently allow all citizens the right to marry. Are homosexuals non-human?  Are they not people with feelings and the ability to love?  We know that in 2004 an anti-same sex marriage movement went through the U.S House of Representatives and out of 435 representatives, only 227 representatives voted to institute this amendment that would do away with same sex marriages.  First of all, this amendment will never pass due to the tolerance people have for homosexuals in modern times.  This country was founded on Biblical views which, as we all know, does not support gay marriage.  To clear this opposition from the Christian religion, during the Babylonian war homosexual acts were forbidden for a certain amount of time in order to build up an army.  This fact proves that homosexuality did exist years before our time. Our government as a whole is hegemonic, meaning that their main view is based on a single, dominant group.  No one can play 'God' and say who can marry or not marry.  If you are a heterosexual and the government said you can not marry, but homosexuals can, would you not put up a fight? Reverse the role and then make a decision based on equality and justice.

Posting 7: Chapter 14 Opposition . . .
An amendment should be added to the constitution to ban gay marriage because of our countries values.  If you are a voter, do you not want your country to reflect Christian, moral values?  America was founded on Christian values and on moral beliefs of our founding fathers. Today people do not realize how close we are to getting this amendment passed.  In 2004 when the anti-gay marriage movement went through the U.S House of Representatives and they only needed 63 more votes to confirm this amendment. If you can vote, you should make a positive difference to your country to protect the beliefs we were founded on.  If homosexuals want to marry they should move to Canada; if marriage means this much to them then they
can find the strength to move to another country.  Get out and vote to ban gay marriage to protect your Christian views and countries morals.
